JULY 21, 2000 The Eastern Shoshone Tribe of Wyoming have become a founding member of Native American Bancorporation, a Denver-based corporation with 15 other founding tribe, with an investment of $1 million. A branch of the bank will be located on the Wind River reservation in Wyoming. The tribe has spent 15 years looking into ways to get a bank on the reservation. The other founding tribes are the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Ojibwe of Michigan, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, the Arctic Slope Regional Corp. of Alaska, the Sealaska Corp. or Alaska, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, Puyallup International of the Puyallup Tribe of Washington, the Mille Lacs Ojibwe of Minnesota , the Seminole Nation, the Ute Mountain Tribe, the Navajo Nation, Table Mountain Rancheria and the Three Affiliated Tribes.
