JUNE 6, 2000 Boxing matches at the Ohkay Casino Resort Dome at San Juan Pueblo are fast becoming a draw for boxing fans who showed up in large numbers over the Memorial Day weekend to watch fights in the pueblo's converted facility in Northern New Mexico. A sell out crowd for a March event featuring Johnny Tapia led the Pueblo to add 200 more seats to its original 950-seat configuration. A future fight will feature former Toughman champion Francis Royal. Money from the events helps fund scholarships for college students and a program for trips to NASA in Florida. Get the Story:
