JUNE 30, 2000 Steve Hansen, spokesman for the US House Committee on Resources said a Congressional probe into the 1983 Mashantucket Pequot Settlement Act, which granted the tribe federal recognition and ended the tribe's land claims with local landowners, is unlikely this current legislative sesion.
