Photo © Reuters Peru's election woes continue as opposition candidate Alejandro Toledo, hoping to become the country's first Indian president, lead a large protest in Lima, the nation's capital. An estimated 50,000 protested the Fujimori adminstration, suspected by many Peruvians and some in the international community, including the US, to have influenced the vote count to favor the incumbent. Fujimori needs to receive over 50% of the vote to avoid a run off and the latest results show Fujimori with 49.79% of the vote. The protests have been peaceful. Get the Story:
