Judge to hold hearing on Everglades cleanup

FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2003

A federal judge in Florida is holding an emergency hearing today on status of the $8 billion Everglades cleanup.

U.S. District Judge William Hoeveler called the hearing over concerns that the Florida Legislature passed a bill that deviates from a federal-state agreement. The Miccosukee Tribe, whose land is in the Everglades, opposes the legislation.
