The U.S. House of Representatives is set to consider two Indian Country bills as lawmakers return to work following the July 4 holiday.

The first item is H.R.410, the Alaska Native Vietnam Era Veterans Land Allotment Extension Act of 2025. The bill extends the Alaska Native Vietnam-Era Veterans Land Allotment Program for another five years to ensure the Bureau of Land Management can reach out to Alaska Native veterans who are entitled to land selections.

The second item is H.R.504, the Miccosukee Reserved Area Amendments Act. The bill adds the Osceola Camp in the Everglades of Florida to the reservation of the Miccosukee Tribe.

Both H.R.410 and H.R.504 are due to be considered under a suspension of the rules as soon as Monday afternoon, according to the House Majority Leader’s calendar. The process is typically used for bills that are considered non-controversial.

Both bills were approved by the House Committee on Natural Resources at a markup on June 24. A hearing on both measures took place on February 5.
