Secretary Deb Haaland and leaders at the Department of the Interior host a press call on December 21, 2021, to discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s renewable energy progress.

“At the Department of the Interior, we know that the time to act on climate,” Haaland said on the call.

“From coastal towns and rural farms to urban centers and tribal community climate change poses an existential threat, not just to our environment, but to our health, our communities and our economic well being,” said Haaland, who is the first Native person to serve in a presidential cabinet.
