The House Committee on Natural Resources holds an organizing meeting on February 18, 2021.

The meeting is the committee’s first gathering of the 117th Congress. Members will go over their agenda for the legislative session and vote on the panel’s rules package.

The meeting takes place at 11am Eastern in Washington, D.C. It is being streamed on YouTube and on Facebook.

The committee has jurisdiction over Indian issues in the U.S. House of Representatives. The panel includes the Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States, which is being chaired by Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández (D-New Mexico). As a new member of Congress, she is new to the leadership role.

The full committee is chaired by Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Arizona). The ranking member is Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-Arkansas).
