Native America Calling: When to turn to speech therapy

The National Institutes of Health says early intervention and speech therapy are key to helping children with speech and language disorders learn to communicate.
But many children who need help don’t always get it. Also, one study suggests looking at disorders from a Native perspective can help professionals distinguish actual language disorders from speech associated with cultural and linguistic traits.
Native America Calling will look at the benefits of speech therapy and how to recognize when it’s in order.
