Kiowa citizen Tristan Ahtone to report on tribes for High Country News

Tristan Ahtone, an award-winning journalist and citizen of the Kiowa Tribe, has joined High Country News.
Ahtone will report on tribal issues for the next two months, the publication announced on Monday.
“I’m honored to join the High Country News team, and look forward to helping create coverage that fairly and accurately portrays Indigenous lives and stories in the West,” Ahtone said, according to a Dear Friends letter.
Ahtone was recently named a Nieman Fellow by the Nieman Foundation for Journalism.
