The Pinoleville Pomo Nation of California is seeking more than $25,000 in damages in connection with a raid on its marijuana operation. Authorities in Mendocino County destroyed the tribe's marijuana crops last September. The tribe says the raid violated numerous federal laws. The tribe is seeking compensation for "Unlawful seizure and/or destruction of entire, nearly-mature crop of approximately 400 medicinal-grade cannabis plants growing on the Reservation property at 650 Pinoleville Dr.; damage to agricultural infrastructure and materials; cost of labor and materials to grow the plants," Chairwoman Leona L. Williams wrote in the claim. The claim will be considered at a board of supervisors meeting on Monday. It is the first step toward filing a lawsuit. Get the Story:
