Cheryl Little Dog, a former council member for the Blackfeet Nation of Montana, has been indicted in federal court.

Little Dog is accused of harboring a fugitive and lying to federal agents. The indictment stems from an incident in which Little Dog allegedly knew Frank Gallardo was in her home on the reservation yet told authorities that she didn't know anything about his whereabouts.

Gallardo was found in a crawl space in Little Dog's home on October 16, 2015. He is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe who was wanted at the time for allegedly accused of molesting an eight-year-old, according to the indictment in his case.

The incident led to Little Dog's removal from the council. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges, MTN News reported.
