The Navajo Nation is encouraging its citizens to pursue careers in medicine.

The tribe and the University of Arizona are establishing a scholarship fund to pay tuition for Navajo students, the AP reported. Beneficiaries will be required to serve at least their community for at least five years after completing their medical residency, the AP said.

The agreement will be signed on Thursday, the AP reported.
