Jason Boyle Jr., a 13-year-old resident of the San Pasqual Reservation in southern California, is making a name for himself on the football field.

Boyle, a 7th grade student at Valley Center Middle School, was ranked last year as the top linebacker in the entire country for his age group, The Valley Roadrunner reported. He also was a Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year nominee, the paper said.

Boyle's talents took him to the 7th grade Football University Youth All-American Bowl game in Texas last month. He was among a small group of players selected for the event but he remains humble about his skills.

“I played all right,” Boyle told the paper.

Boyle, who has lived on the San Pasqual Reservation his whole life, is Kumeyaay, the paper said.
