The Colville Tribes of Washington are planning to convert an old gaming facility into a center for senior citizens.

Elders walked through the former Okanogan Bingo Casino last week and came up with a list of fixes, The Tribal Tribune reported. The building suffered some water damage so there are concerns about water leaks and mold, the paper said.

Reusing the building will save the tribe the $2.8 million needed for an entirely new senior center, the paper reported. A date for the move in hasn't been established.

The building also was used as the North Star Fire Donation Center to receive donations for firefighters that battled blazes in and around the reservation last fall.
