A three-year-old girl has been cancer free for a year and her family credits the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma with helping cover the costs of her care.

Emily Baker was diagnosed with cancer on her kidney and underwent 18 chemotherapy treatments, KOAM-TV reported. Her family relied on insurance from the tribe and the state to make it through.

"The tribe and Sooner Care are taking care of her medical expenses. Everything. And that helps so much," Chareta Upton, a tribal member who serves as Emily's guardian, told the station.

The tribe offers health plans for its members.
