Winning two elections by comfortable margins apparently isn't enough for some members of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. Chief Phyllis Anderson defeated rival Beasley Denson not once but twice this summer. Despite her second win, someone has filed an appeal, The Neshoba Democrat reported. The first election was invalidated by the council by a 9-8 vote. People raised concerns about absentee ballots, the paper said. The basis of the new appeal weren't reported by the paper. Anderson is the first woman to lead the tribe. She originally defeated Denson, who served one term as chief, in 2011. Get the Story:
