PINE RIDGE RESERVATION—A piece of land that contains one of the prettiest views in all of America has hit the sales block.

Located north of Cuny Table and south of Red Shirt community alongside BIA route 30 exists a roadside view unlike any other. The view that overlooks one of the deepest crevices in all of the Badlands is now for sale at a price of $250,000, according to VIP Properties of Rapid City, South Dakota.

The property contains 131 acres of Badlands property according to realtor Josh Uhre of VIP Properties.

For generations tribal members and tribal government has been aware of rich beds of fossils and mineral located within the badlands making the piece of property not only a possible tourist hotbed but also very valuable historically.

Last year as part of the debate over the establishment of a proposed Tribal National Park proponents made the case for a need to protect these fossils that are often poached by fossil hunters and sold to private collectors in violation of federal law.

The piece of land has a septic tank already installed on the property as the land was at one time considered for use as a visitor’s center.

Lakota Country Times will follow up on the land as this story develops.
