Attorney and author Gyasi Ross is adding another title to his resume: recording artist. Ross will be releasing his spoken word album, Isskootsik (Before Here Was Here) on May 12. He's delivering messages of activism, struggle and hope with tracks about Indian activists, treaty rights and border towns. “Vision, commitment and charisma are found in few people. These combined with humility are rare. Gyasi has all these and he represents the best off a new generation of leaders for indigenous and all communities," activist Winona LaDuke says in promotional material for the release.
