A couple from the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana welcomed a new member of the family on January 24.

But the arrival of Vrooks Vanae Seminole didn't exactly go as planned. Deidra Bonogofsky gave birth in the family's car as Travis Seminole tried to rush her from their home on the reservation to a hospital in Billings, a 125-mile drive.

“We were flying all the way up from Ashland to Billings, and we almost made it,” Bonogofsky told The Billings Gazette of the two-hour journey.

The Indian Health Service on the reservation informed St. Vincent Healthcare that the couple would be arriving there for delivery. After Bonogofsky gave birth on the drive over, Seminole decided to go to Billings Clinic, which was just a few blocks away.

“These guys took real good care of her here," Bonogofsky told the paper. She was able to take the newborn back to the reservation on Friday after both were given a clean bill of health.
