The Mescalero Apache Tribe of New Mexico is adding two zip lines to its reservation. The Apache Eagle Zip Line will be located at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, the tribe's hotel and gaming resort. It will give visitors a "stunning view" of Lake Mescalero, according to The Ruidoso News. The Apache Wind Rider Zip Tour will be located at Ski Apache, the tribe's ski resort. This one will be even more dramatic -- it starts high in the mountains and will take visitors at speeds nearing 60 mph, the paper said. "It adds another attraction to Inn of the Mountain Gods and to the region of Lincoln and Otero counties," President Danny Breuninger told the paper. "It's not hiking, skiing, biking, fishing — it's something totally different." ZipRider, a company based in Utah, is building the zip lines for the tribe. They are scheduled to open in October.
