The Senate Indian Affairs Committee held a hearing this afternoon on two Native language bills. The committee took testimony on S.1948, the Native Language Immersion Student Achievement Act. The creates a grant program to support Native language immersion programs. The committee also took testimony on S.2299, the Native American Languages Reauthorization Act.
