President Barack Obama will designate the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument in New Mexico at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

The All Indian Pueblo Council, the Tigua Tribe and the Fort Sill Apache Tribe support the designation. The 496,000-acre site includes ancestral villages, petroglyphs and other cultural resources.

Obama will designate the monument at the main Interior Department building tomorrow at approximately 4:05pm. The remarks will be webcast at www.whitehouse.gov/live.
