A man from the
White Earth Nation
in Minnesota has been charged with second-degree murder.
Federal authorities say Charles J. Jones, 49, set the home he shared with Shalonda Clark, 35, on fire on December 30. She was asleep at the time and died inside from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Jones and Clark had three children together. Clark's mother said the relationship was often violent.
