Two businesses owned by the Cayuga Nation of New York remain closed amid a leadership dispute.

The LakeSide Trading convenience store and gas station in Union Springs and in Seneca Falls closed on Monday. The Union Springs location briefly reopened on Wednesday but was closed again today, The Auburn Citizen reported, while the Union Springs site has remain closed all week.

A group known as the Unity Council claims to represent the tribe. But Clint Halftown has continued to be recognized as the legitimate leader by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
