Former Cedarville Rancheria leader back in court for murders





Cherie Lash Rhoades, the former chairwoman of the Cedarville Rancheria of California, was back in court on Wednesday in her murder case.

Rhoades has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and attempted murder. Authorities say she shot and killed four people and injured two others at tribal headquarters on February 20.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 9, according to news reports. Rhoades could be put to death if she is convicted.
