House panel schedules hearing on Alaska Native subsistence bill

The
House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs
will hold a hearing next week on the proposed Alaska Native Subsistence Co-Management Demonstration Act of 2014.
Rep. Don Young
(R-Alaska), the chairman of the subcommittee, has circulated a discussion copy of the bill. It would authorize a demonstration program that allows for state, federal and tribal co-management of wildlife throughout the traditional hunting territory of the
Ahtna people
.
The hearing takes place on Friday, March 14, at 11am in Room 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building.
