Five indicted for brutal murder of woman on Navajo Nation





Five people have been indicted in federal court for the brutal murder of a woman on the Navajo Nation.

The Farmington Daily-Times identified the victim as 28-year-old Gabrielle Joe. She was kidnapped, tied up, stripped naked and had her throat cut before her body was thrown off a cliff near Shiprock, New Mexico, the paper said.

Patrick Benally, 26, Justin Benally, 26, Mariah Benally, 21, Scott Thompson, 27, and Lasheena Jacquez, 27, have been indicted on felony murder, kidnapping and aiding and abetting charges. The incident occurred last October.
