National Congress of American Indians meeting in Nevada

The
National Congress of American Indians
is holding its
mid-year conference
in Reno, Nevada, this week.
Interior Secretary Sally Jewell
is due to address tribal leaders on Thursday, the last day of the conference. This will be her first appearance at NCAI.
Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn, the head of the
Bureau of Indian Affairs
, is on the schedule for Tuesday. He spoke at NCAI's annual conference in California last October and at NCAI's winter session in Washington, D.C., this past March.
Other speakers this week include Jodi Gillette, the
White House
advisor for Native American Affairs; Yvette Roubideaux, the director of the
Indian Health Service
and
Mark Trahant
