Oregon tribe schedules public meetings on proposed land swap

The
Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians
in Oregon will hold public meetings next week to discuss a proposed land swap.
The tribe is seeking the return of 14,500 acres of ancestral territory. The land is currently overseen by the
Bureau of Land Management
.
The public can comment on
a draft proposal of the land transfer
.
