Chairman of Big Pine Paiute Tribe disputes removal efforts

Some members of the Big Pine Paiute Tribe of California are trying to remove Chairman Dave Moose from office.

Paul Stone started a petition against Moose, calling out the chairman for alleged abuses of power. But the petition was rejected by the council due to a lack of valid signatures.

A second petition is now being circulated. Moose says the effort is hurting the tribe's reputation.

“It is sad that individuals choose to make tribal affairs public to try and ridicule or bring shame to someone; that is very unfortunate,” Moose told The Inyo County Register. “These actions do not represent nor reflect on the tribe and business and services continue.”
