Authorities are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck Kayzlyn Thomas, a three-year-old member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

Kayzlyn was struck in a parking lot on December 5. She died on Wednesday after suffering severe head injuries to her head and body.

Kayzlyn's great aunt saw the driver of the vehicle, which fled the scene. Family members are asking the person to come forward.

“If it was an accident, she shouldn’t have run," the aunt, Tarina McMillan, said of the driver, The Jackson Clarion Ledger reported.

Criminal charges are possible.
