Two eagle feather headdresses returned to Menominee Nation

A museum in Ohio returned two eagle-feather headdresses and other items to the Menominee Nation of Wisconsin.
The Athens County Historical Society and Museum acquired the headdresses, moccasins and bandoleer bag from a donor. They were originally owned by Reginald Oshkosh, a Menominee chief who died in 1931.
“This was a great gesture and outreach by the Athens museum,” Rebecca Alegria, the researcher and cultural planner for the tribe's historic preservation office, told The Columbus Dispatch.
