An attorney is on trial in federal court for allegedly stealing more than $1 million from the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
Frank Excel Marley III, 39, has pleaded not guilty to one count of wire and mail fraud conspiracy and nine counts of theft from Indian tribal organizations.
His legal assistant, Maria Hassun, 66, has pleaded guilty and will testify against him.
Marley worked for the tribe from late 2006 to early 2011, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. His attorney said he is still owed money for his services.
