The Rock Your Mocs campaign returns tomorrow for its third year.

Jessica “Jaylyn” Atsye, a 21-year-old member of Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico, created the event in 2011. She's encouraging everyone -- Native and non-Native alike -- to wear their moccasins.

"Jaylyn is often asked where the idea for 'Rock Your Mocs' came from and shares that her idea took shape one day by looking at her feet when wearing her 'mocs,'" a press release states. She realized a majority of Native and Indigenous Peoples share the same type of shoe and wanted to have a day to celebrate that bit of culture across great distances."

Atsye will be at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque tomorrow to support the campaign. She encourages the use of the hashtag "#rym2013" when posting to Twitter, Facebook or other sites.
