The
Blood Tribe is hosting the first public library on a reserve in Alberta.
The
Kainai Public Library opened in February. The facility houses a growing collection of Native literature, CBC News reported.
"We have a really rich history of culture and story telling and literacy in terms of language and song and our traditions and we wanted just to bring books into that," committee member Hali Heavy Shield told CBC.
The library hopes to issue a card to everyone on the reserve.
