The former director of housing for the
Narragansett Tribe
of Rhode Island was sentenced for stealing federal funds.
Rosilyn W. Brown
, 63, admitted that she took more than $100,000 in funds provided to the tribe by the
Department of Housing and Urban Development
. She was sentenced to one year and a day in prison and ordered to pay $120,000 in restitution.
Chief Sachem Matthew Thomas said he raised questions about misspending of HUD funds.
