Lac du Flambeau Band wins accreditation for dental program

The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake
Superior Chippewa in Wisconsin has won accreditation for a joint dental hygiene program with Nicolet College.
The partnership is said to be the first of its kind. it will help tribal members enter the dental care field.
“Now students looking for a career in dental hygiene or dental assisting can have the latest and most technologically advanced learning experience close to home,” Paco Fralick, a tribal member who serves as dental director at the Peter Christensen Dental Clinic, told The Lakeland Times.
Fralick is only one of 150 Native American dentists, the paper said.
