Clyde Bellecourt, a co-founder of the American Indian Movement, is on trial for an arrest connected to an Idle No More protest in Minnesota.

Bellecourt did not organize the round dance at a mall in downtown Minneapolis on December 24. But the 77-year-old was the only one arrested after he allegedly refused to leave when told by a police officer.

Bellecourt faces 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine if he is convicted on a trespassing charge. He took the stand in his own defense on Thursday and his testimony is expected to continue today.
