St. Regis Mohawk Tribe holds new election for chief, subchief





The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York held a special election for chief and subchief on Saturday after the results of an earlier vote were thrown out.

Beverly Cook won election as chief, according to the unofficial results. She defeated Randy Hart, who had won the vote that was invalidated last month.

Shelley Jacobs won election as subchief.
