The
St. Regis Mohawk Tribe
of New York held a special election for chief and subchief on Saturday after the results of an earlier vote were thrown out.
Beverly Cook won election as chief,
according to the unofficial results
. She defeated Randy Hart, who had won the vote that was invalidated last month.
Shelley Jacobs won election as subchief.
