The
Big Pine Paiute Tribe
of California has received a $37,500 grant to start a garden and a seed bank.
The tribe has already started planting trees, berries, shrubs and other plants. The goal is to promote local foods and native species.
The tribe received the money from the
First Nations Development Institute
.
