Kevin Abourezk: Nebraska governor won't halt Whiteclay liquor

Kevin Abourezk reports on Nebraska governor's comments regarding the sale of liquor in Whiteclay, a border town:
The state of Nebraska has no legal way to shut down beer stores in Whiteclay as long as those stores continue to follow the law, Gov. Dave Heineman said Monday.

Instead, the Oglala Sioux Tribe must address alcohol abuse through treatment and education, he said.

“Let’s tackle the problem head on,” Heineman said. “They know they have one. I think that’s an area where maybe they can improve.”
