Seminole Tribe to pursue lawsuit against planned power plant

The Seminole Tribe of Florida can pursue its lawsuit against a power plant, a state appeals court ruled on June 12.

The tribe sued Hendry County for rezoning land that will be used by Florida Power & Light for the power plant. The tribe is worried about the impact of the Hendry County facility on water and wildlife.

“The Seminole Tribe will have its day in court,” attorney Andrew Baumann told The South Florida Business Journal.

Florida Power & Light is also a defendant.
