Appeals court orders Native man to stay in prison indefinitely

The Alberta Court of Appeal ordered a Native man who has a history of violent crime to be jailed indefinitely.

Cory Bitternose, 38, was sentenced to 20 years for assaulting two women. The appeals court said he was so dangerous that he must be imprisoned for an indeterminate amount of time.

"At present, he is a loaded gun with a hair trigger," the forthcoming decision stated, CBC News reported.

Bitternose has been convicted of numerous crimes involving attacks on women.
