DOI to participate in webinar for Cobell trust fund settlement

The Interior Department will participate in a webinar tomorrow to discuss the $3.4 billion Cobell trust fund settlement.

The webinar will include representatives of the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Cobell litigation team and the Garden City Group, which has been administering the settlement.

"The Department is committed to providing accurate and current information to our beneficiaries regarding the historic Cobell Settlement, and OST and BIA leadership are working closely to ensure the OST Trust Beneficiary Call Center and the field operations in the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Office of the Special Trustee are providing this information in a timely manner," Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn said in a press release.

The webinar is being hosted by the National Congress of American Indians. It takes place at 2pm Eastern Time.
