Salish Kootenai College picks Robert DePoe as new president

Salish Kootenai College
in Montana has named Robert DePoe III as its new president.
DePoe is a member of the
Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes
. He most recently worked at the
Bureau of Indian Affairs
as a self-determination specialist. He also served as education director for the
Paiute Tribe
in Utah.
DePoe was one of three finalists for the job. He succeeds Luana Ross, who left the college unexpectedly last October.
Prior to Ross, Joe McDonald ran SKC for 32 years before he retired in 2010.
