Ponca Tribe breaks ground on $3.5M transit service building

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska has started work on a $3.5 million facility for its transit service.

The tribe will use the building to house the Ponca Express. The service provides affordable rides for the public.

“We have been growing steadily. Every time we renew the grant, we try to add one more driver,’’ Dani Wright, the tribe's transportation manager, told The Norfolk Daily News.

The tribe will also use the building for training and videoconferencing. The facility will be open to the public.
