A few mornings ago, the entertainment took the form of a couple different types of misspeaking. First, a reporter for Oregon Public Broadcasting, I am guessing someone who didn’t grow up in this state, talked about the Coquille tribe’s effort to build a casino. His Hooked on Phonics approach caused him to pronounce the tribe as ko-KWILL, whereas we all know the way to say it is actually ko-KEEL. Oh well. Some Oregon place names are sort of hard to know how to pronounce.Get the Story:
