Alaska Native corporation creates cultural tourism business

Huna Totem Corporation, an Alaska Native village corporation, has launched a new cultural tourism business.

Alaska Native Voices will offer cultural interpreters for cruise ships in Alaska. The company can also place guides at the Glacier Bay National Park.

“We do consult regularly with elders and others in the community and develop resources for these cultural guides to be able to grow and expand their knowledge base,” Mark McKernan of Huna Totem told KTOO.
