Three young men from Kewa Pueblo in New Mexico were sentenced in connection with a homicide on the reservation.

Adrian Chavez, 24, pleaded guilty to second degree murder for killing Nevin Garcia, 20, also from Kewa, with a machete in October 2009. Chavez was sentenced to 192 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Derrick Chavez, 26, and Myron Garcia, 24, each pleaded guilty to being accessories after the fact. They admitted they helped Adrian Chavez transport and bury the victim's body.

Derrick Chavez was sentenced to 66 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Myron Garcia was sentenced to 60 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release
